The film is based on a true story of a group of 71 undertrained and undergunned student-soldiers for South Korea during the Korean War, during the Battle of P'ohang-dong, while defending P'ohang-dong girls' middle school, from an attack by overwhelming North Korean forces for 11 hours.
Well-made action scenes and a really good drama on top of that. You sense the desperation from a group of young soldiers who gets caught up in a brutal battle, and the fact that it's focuses on a younger group of men is one of the strongest drawing points of the film.
